Goldtresor Fix™ bitcoin (BTC), daily close

There is no official Hungarian daily rate for crypto assets: the MNB does not quote crypto, and exchanges show diverging prices that never stop moving. Hungarian rules still require the result of a crypto transaction to be stated in forint. So Goldtresor records a closing reference price for BTC every day, in dollars, and in forint and euro at that day's MNB mid rate.

Crypto trades at weekends too, so every day has a close. The dollar value is always there, but forint and euro only on days with an MNB rate, so weekends and Hungarian public holidays show a dash. Switch to USD to see those days.

Crypto and gold

Goldtresor is a precious metals dealer and we provide no crypto-asset services. We show the rate so you can see, in one place, what is moving.

Why measure it in gold as well?

In forint or dollars everything rises and falls, because the money itself changes value. Priced in gold, a crypto asset is measured against something genuinely scarce and physical. That often tells a different story than the fiat chart.

Moving gains into something physical

Plenty of people move part of a crypto gain into a physical asset. With us, investment gold and silver can be bought by the gram, with or without physical delivery.

Where does the Bitcoin price come from?

The same Goldtresor PriceEngine™ module collects Bitcoin quotes as it does for precious metals: it continuously aggregates data from leading international price providers and derives a reference price. The Bitcoin price here refreshes every second, and the daily reference below is derived from it. An important difference from precious metals: the Bitcoin rate is shown for information, you cannot buy or sell crypto with us for now, and it is not backed by our stock. For gold and silver the same price underpins our actual trading price, backed by vaulted physical metal.

Why the Bitcoin euro rate may matter to you

Tax return, conversion to forint

You are viewing the rate in EUR, but a tax return needs the result of a crypto transaction in forint. That needs a documented rate valid for a given day, the daily reference rate (in forint) and annual CSV above provide exactly that, together with the MNB FX rates of the same day.

Tracking portfolio weights

If you hold both crypto and metals, rates measured in the same currency make them comparable (now: EUR). Our portfolio view computes the metals side; the crypto pages provide the reference for the other leg.

Self-custody or vaulting

With crypto you hold the key (“your keys, your crypto”), and the responsibility: a lost key cannot be recovered. Gold offers the same absence of an intermediary, physically, and if you choose us: allocated, insured and deliverable anytime. Gold you bought elsewhere can also be brought to us for storage.

Rotating part of the gains

After strong phases of the cycle many rotate a slice into physical gold: similar hard-money logic, far lower volatility. Not investment advice.

What moves the Bitcoin price?

Capped supply, halving

Bitcoin’s total supply is capped at 21 million and new issuance halves roughly every four years. This predictable, tightening supply underpins the “digital gold” narrative, for gold, slow and costly mining plays a similar role.

Institutional demand, exchange-traded products

Since regulated exchange-traded products appeared, institutional inflows and outflows visibly move the price, much like central-bank buying and ETF holdings do for gold.

Liquidity and interest rates

Ample liquidity and low rates typically favour riskier assets including crypto; a tightening environment reverses this. Bitcoin is therefore highly sensitive to central-bank expectations.

Regulation and technology

Changes in licensing and tax rules, plus network upgrades (scaling, security), directly affect demand. This risk type does not exist for gold, where authenticity and storage are the questions.

Common search forms for this page: btc huf, bitcoin forint, bitcoin price in forint, 1 bitcoin in forint, all of which mean the same BTC/HUF rate.
